Actually, Mt Ama Dablam is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world located in the Everest region. Ama Dablam is with an altitude of 6,838m above the sea level and its base camp is 4,570m above the sea level. Chola Pass Everest base camp journey:

After the preparation in Kathmandu, we will fly to Lukla airport with a scenic flight above the mountains. Crossing Namche Bazar, it’s a one-day hike to Pangboche village which is on the way to Dingboche village. You can go directly to Pangboche village from Namche Bazar instead of stopping at Tyangboche also. It’s only three to four hours hike from Pangboche to Ama Dablam and two to three hours to go back to Pangboche. You can say that it is an acclimatization day also where you will train your body. After that trek again continues in the main trail of EBC trek from Pangboche.

You will have a first acclimatization day at Namche Bazar with an altitude of 3,440m to adjust your body with the atmosphere. Likewise, Ama Dablam base camp day is also like acclimatization day which will take four hours to reach & 2-3 hours to return.

Normally, every trekker needs to have two acclimatization days in the Everest base camp trek at Namche Bazar and Dingboche location. You will then hike to Nagarjuna hill 5,100m from Dingboche which will take about 5 hours from and to Dingboche or you can explore Chhukung village 4,800m. After spending two nights at Dingboche 4,400m, you will then trek to Lobuche 4,910m. After that, you can complete the Everest base camp trek (5,364m) from Lobuche and stop at Gorakshep (5,180m) in one single day.

Kalapathar 5,545m is another big attraction in this trek among travelers. After reaching Everest base camp 5,364m, many people attempt Kalapathar as well. Especially, Kalapathar is the most famous for a close view of Mt. Everest’s because you can’t have an Everest view from the Everest base camp. Similarly, Kalapathar is popular for the sunset view also.

After doing Ama Dablam base camp trek, Everest base camp trek and Kalapathar trek, you will have another challenge of Chola Pass 5,420m.  Chola Pass is widely known as Everest high pass among three high passes in Nepal.

You can trek to Chola Pass either from the Gokyo side or Everest base camp at another time which includes Chola pass. But in this package, you can do it from Dzongla 4,830m and trek to Gokyo Lake. Similarly, Chola pass 5,420m is considered a bit hard pass due to its high elevation and rough trail which makes it more daring and challenging.

Chola Pass EBC trek with Ama Dablam base camp has another beautiful place known as Gokyo Lake 4,790m and Gokyo Ri 5,360m. Gokyo Lake is one of the most beautiful Lake in the Everest region. It is listed in the Ramsar site as well for its wetland and wildlife. Likewise, there are five different glacier Lakes in Gokyo Valley which is the jewel of that area. And you will see at least three Lakes along the trail and you will stay two nights just beside the big Gokyo Lake 4,790m.

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu (Capital city of Nepal) & transfer to hotel

Pristine Nepal Treks guide or staff will pick you up from arrival & drive to the hotel. Normally, we bring you at Thamel because it is an in-style holidaymaker place in the national capital where you’ll see several gears shop, art shop, souvenirs shop, hotels, malls, restaurants, travel agencies, trekking agencies, banks, & more. If your arrival is in the daytime you will explore Thamel. Your trekking guide will brief regarding your trekking.

Day 2
: Fly to Lukla 2,800m 30 minutes & trek to Phakding 2,660m – 04 hours

Trekking guide will come at your hotel early in the morning to pick you up to drop you to the domestic landing field. It’s a short scenic flight to Lukla. Flight can operated from Ramechhap during the busy season due to high air traffic of Kathmandu airport. Ramechhap airport is only 4 hours driving distance from Kathmandu.

Similarly, Lukla airport is the most dangerous airport within the world. It is located over 2,800m on top of the ocean level & on the lap of the mountain. Sometimes, it’s terribly unstable weather makes too difficult for flight.

You’ll meet your porter at Lukla & eat breakfast there too. Many young boys come to Lukla from the different part of Nepal for being a porter. They carry tourist’s bag packs in busy season & carry local’s things in offseason. Sometimes, they carry up to 120kg similarly. However, your trekking porters carry 20-30 kilo as a result of your porter must to follow our itinerary.

3-4 hours walk solely on a first day through the few villages together with Chaurikharkha, Ghat, Thadokoshi. You’ll stop at Phakding for an overnight.

Day 3
Trek to Namche Bazar 3,440m – 06 hours

The morning walks begin simply taking breakfast and then by following Dudhkoshi stream. It’s straightforward walking till Monjo, Jorsalle alongside River. You’ll have some few suspension bridges on Dudhkoshi River to cross. And one popular high bridge before Namche bazar with colorful Buddhist prayer flags. It is known as Hillary Bridge. Of Course, you’ll meet several donkeys, jokpyos (breeding from yak & cow), on the way. You have to be careful with those animals.

Day 4
Acclimatization day at Namche Bazar – sightseeing Everest view hotel

Namche Bazar 3,440m could be a most vital place for Khumbu region. It’s a well-liked Sherpa village. Similarly, it had been well-known for the Tibetan market also. Especially, most of the individuals from the Khumbu region will come back here to sell products. Of course, Namche has several things these days together with hotels, restaurants, pub, bar, trekking gears shop, department shop, thangka gallery, public school, health post, security base etc.

If you stayed here for a minimum of 2 nights then your body gets accustomed. It is very important to prevent from AMS.

You will visit the highest of Namche Bazar known as Chorcamp. You’ll have an excellent view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, beautiful Ama-Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Kongde, Khumbila etc. And climb a steep mountain to Syangboche wherever Mt. Everest view Hotel is located. You will have the attractive view of Mt. Everest. Then back to the hotel for a day of rest.

Day 5
Trek to Pangboche 4,000m – 07 hours

Normally, trekkers trek to only Tengboche from Namche Bazar. But this trekking is designed for Ama Dablam base camp too. Pangboche village 4,000m is only 1:30 hour from Tengboche. Pangboche is the best place to go to Ama Dablam base camp. It can be bit long day but you can do it.

Day 6
Hike to Ama Dablam base camp 4,570m & back to Pangboche for overnight stay – 06 hours

Mount Ama Dablam 6,838m is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world within Everest region. Its base camp offers a great Himalaya view. It is easy and short distance from Pangboche village. So you will hike to Ama Dablam base camp 4,570m early in the morning after having your breakfast.

It takes only 3 to 4 hours to reach Ama Dablam base camp from Pangboche. You should cross a suspension bridge and climb up to base camp with a great Himalayan view. Mt. Ama Dablam is considered one of the hardest and technical mountains for climbing. Ama Dablam base camp is busy in autumn season (September to November). You can see many tents and climber here in autumn. Make photographs and go down to Pangboche. Back to Pangboche in the afternoon for overnight stay.

Day 7
Trek to Dingboche 4,400m – 04 hours

After doing a beautiful Ama Dablam base camp, you will trek to Dingboche 4,400m. It’s a short day to Dingboche from Pangboche. Dingboche is another beautiful Sherpa village within Everest region. You will have 2 nights here including acclimatization day.

Day 8
Acclimatization day; hike to Nagarjuna hill 5,100m & back to Dingboche for overnight – 05 hours

Today is another acclimatization day. It is recommended to go high altitude and come back to same place for overnight stop. This place is 4,400m above sea level. It offers two different places to explore in acclimatization day.

One is Chhukung village 4,830m and other is Nagarjun hill 5,100m. It will be helpful if you go to one of them. Nowadays, most people attempt Nagarjun hill 5,100m.

They test their ability for Everest base camp on this mountain. It does not take that long day too. You need to hike 3 to 4 hours to go up and two hours roughly to go down to Dingboche. Afternoon will be free for rest.

Day 9
Trek to Lobuche 4,910m – 06 hours

From today, you will have all high altitude trekking. It is an easy trail to walk to Lobuche 4,910m. First, about three hours will be easy due to its gradual flat mountain with a great view of beautiful mountains. You will have great mountain views of Tawache, Cholatse, Lobuche peak, Ama Dablam, Pumori and more.

There is an unstable trail nearby Thukla 4,600m due to fast pace river. And you have to climb up to Lobuche pass 4,870m. This pass is popular for its cemetery of mountaineers. From here, it will take an hour to reach Lobuche 4,910m with just a gradual flat.

Day 10
Trek to Gorakshep 5,180m – 03 hours; hike to Everest base camp 5,364m and back to Gorakshep for an overnight

Today is the highlight day for this trek. You will trek to the highest base camp of the highest mountain.

Everest base camp 5,364m is considered as the highest base camp. You need only three hours roughly to reach to Gorakshep 5,180m from Lobuche. You can leave all your bag pack at Gorakshep except water bottle and camera.

Its two hours from Gorakshep to reach to Everest base camp. You can see a big Khumbu icefall nearby base camp. However, you will see many tenting here in the spring season and almost no tent in the autumn season.

You can have time for a photograph here and go back to Gorakshep for an overnight stop. If you are not that tired from altitude and trekking you are recommended to climb up to Kalapathar 5,545m for sunset view on Mount Everest.

Day 11
Hike to Kalapathar in the early morning – 03 hours & trek to Dzongla 4,830m – 05 hours

Hike to Kalapathar 5,545m in the early morning for sun rise view. As mentioned up, sun set view is great to see from Kalapathar but trekkers sometimes cannot go to Kalapathar after doing Everest base camp in single day. So you can do it early in the morning. After reaching Kalapathar, go back to Gorakshep, have a breakfast and trek to Dzongla for Chola Pass.

Day 12
Cross Chola pass 5,420m in the early morning & trek down to Thangnak 4,700m – 05 hours

This day also will be special and difficult too. Chola pass 5,420m is called Everest high pass. Chola Pass 5,420m is a big attraction of this trekking. It is recommended to start early in the morning. It takes about three hours to reach on the top of the Chola Pass 5,420m from Dzongla. You are trekking all this area is high altitude areas so go slowly. It is a bit dangerous around pass areas due to its avalanche and rock falling problem sometimes.

Big downhill from Chola pass is also considered difficult. If there is snow then it makes more difficult due to slippery rocks. You need about another three hours to go down to Thangnak 4,830m for an overnight stop.

Day 13
Trek to Gokyo Lake 4,790m – 04 hours

You will trek to Gokyo after having breakfast at Thangna. The trail to go to Gokyo is really rough on the glacier areas. This trail is unstable. It is not that long to reach to Gokyo but it is too dangerous due to its glacier. If there is snow you have to be very careful. That is why it is recommended to take an experienced guide for this trekking. You will need only 3 to 4 hours to trek to Gokyo from Thangna.

Day 14
Hike to Gokyo Ri 5,360m – 03 hours & free afternoon at Gokyo

Surely, you goanna have another fantastic day. Gokyo itself very beautiful is situated just alongside the Gokyo Lake with an altitude of 4,790m. And Gokyo Ri 5,360m is most stunning view point of Everest region. It offers a 360° mountain view. You can see from here; the highest peak Mount Everest 8,848m, the 4th highest peak Mt. Lhotse 8,516m, the 5th highest peak Mt. Makalu 8,481m, the 6th highest peak Mt. Cho Oyu 8,201m and other many 7,000s & 6,000s mountains.

Then you can have just afternoon free. You can have relaxing day at Gokyo and overnight.

Day 15
Trek down to Dhole 4,100m – 06 hours

Well, after having beautiful time in these high Himalaya areas, now you will head down to Lukla. You need at least three days to reach to Lukla from where you will have short flight to Kathmandu. Today you will walk down to Dhole 4,100m. This is a small settlement for tourists. You stop for an overnight here.

Day 16
Trek to Namche Bazar 3,440m – 07 hours

After having breakfast at Dhole 4,100m, you will trek to Namche Bazar 3,440m. Altitude will be decreased.

First part of the trail in the morning to Phortse Thanga is downhill and a step uphill up to Mungla Danda. Then it is big downhill to Lausasa which is the main trail to Everest base camp.

You have walked already here on the way to two base camp Ama Dablam base camp and Everest base camp. From here, it is easy and wide trail to reach to Namche Bazar. You will have an overnight again at Namche Bazar tonight.

Day 17
Trek to Lukla 2,800m – 07 hours

The morning starts with a delicious breakfast & walking downhill via a famed same higher bridge.

Follow Dudh Koshi stream, Jorsalle, Monjo, TokTok, Phakding, Ghat, Thadokoshi, Chaurikharka & Lukla. You will have a last lunch at Phakding before another few hours to trek to Lukla.

Ascent up before Lukla can cause you too tired however finally, you’ll be at Lukla for the last night on the mountain. It’s time to say bye to your porters. Most of them come back to the landing field to bring your backpack however formally, their duty is finished here.

Day 18
Fly to Kathmandu/Ramechhap with short flight & transfer to hotel

You will have a short flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. It’s about 30 minutes of flight. But they fly to Ramechhap sometimes due to high air traffic in Kathmandu airport.

If you have a flight to Ramechhap from Lukla then you will have 4-hour driving to Kathmandu and you can have afternoon free.

Normally, we always offer a farewell dinner in this day. We will bring you at reputable Nepali reataurant for a Nepali culture show with a dinner. We will hear your comments, complaints and suggestion. We are keen to provide the best service to our guest.

Day 19
Departure to home from Kathmandu

If it’s departure day for you then we will drop you to the airport as per your flight time. It will be our pleasure to make your trip memorable and wonderful. You can always contact us because we are there for you.

Can I customize my trip?

Yes, of course, you can customize this trek according to your desire but it must include acclimatization day and you have to provide the details to us.

We will then calculate all the fees you have to pay after you submit your itinerary.

Where will i live when coming Nepal?

After you book the package with us, you will get a room for a stay in the heart of the city, Thamel. You will have a one night stay at that hotel according to this package.

As for the accommodations during the trek, you will be staying in different hotels/lodges/tea houses. There you won’t have to pay any charges for the room and meals. However, if you act on your own to choose the meals rather than our guide then you have to pay by yourself.

Our guide will give you 3 meals per day.

Can I bring my children in this trip?

There is no any age restriction on this trip. But it doesn’t mean that you can bring your children lower than 14 years old.

We recommend you to do some hiking with your children before going trekking. It’s best to know the stamina of your children so that the trip won’t get affected.

What if I get sick or any other physical damage?

It is possible that you might get an injury during the trek. It’s also possible that you might get sick. But if it’s a minor health problem which can be solved with less medical care then your guide will help you. With the help of a med kit, you can continue your trek.

However, if it’s serious then there will be a Helicopter evacuation. If you have travel insurance then the travel insurance will pay all the losses. That is why you have to do travel insurance also.
