EBC Trek Overview:

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you’ll be received by one of our representative & transfer to one of the deluxe hotel in Thamel. The next day your journey starts with a 4-hour drive to Ramechhap from Kathmandu.

Why should we go to Ramechhap airport?
Normally, all Lukla flights would operate from Kathmandu airport. But due to very high air traffic in Kathmandu airport and unpredictable weather of Lukla, domestic airlines cannot get flight schedules properly from Kathmandu. That is why we should go to Ramechhap airport to catch a flight to Lukla. Nepal domestic airline company operates Lukla flight from Ramechhap too.

Ramechhap airport is the only domestic airport there and this is just an alternative airport of Kathmandu domestic airport. This airport will be busy only on tourist season (Mid- March to May and October to November).

The weather in Lukla is clear in the morning time. So, all the domestic airline company flies to Lukla early in the morning. You have to be there at least an hour before your flight. It is very rush and sometimes misses the flight due to road traffic from Kathmandu to Ramechhap if you drive the same day. That is why we bring you to Ramechhap one day before your flight to Lukla.

On your third day, you’ll fly to Lukla from Ramechhap with a scenic view on the way. It will take 25mins to reach Lukla by plane.
As soon as you land at the world’s highest, Lukla airport, you will be welcomed by the cool breeze of Himalayas. From here the journey kicks off by trekking to Phakding from Lukla which is just a 3-hour walk.

The next day, you’ll trek to the beautiful Sherpa village, Namche Bazar, also known as the capital of the Khumbu region. It is situated on crescent-shaped mountain slopes providing a stunning view of mountains across the valley. On your 5th day, you’ll stay in Namche for rest & acclimatization.

Your trek continuous to Dingboche passing through rocky trails, terraced field, rhododendron forest, rivers & bridges along with the irresistible mountain views. You will have a rest day here at Dingboche too. On your 8th day as a rest day, you’ll hike to the popular Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m/16,667ft) for acclimatization. Hiking to this peak will help your body to adjust the higher altitude.

You will then trek to Lobuche, & the very next day you’ll head to your main destination Everest Base Camp which will take 5-6 hours. After successfully reaching the base camp you’ll then trek back to Gorekshep for overnight stay.

Gorekshep is the last outpost before reaching Everest Base Camp. There are very few numbers of teahouses in this region. And from Gorakshep on your 11th day, you will hike to the highest point on this trek which is Kalapatthar. This is an optional hike that provides you the best view of Mt. Everest & other peaks.

From here, you will follow the same route to head back to Namche Bazar and then Lukla. On the 14th day, you will departure from Lukla and return back to Kathmandu after a wonderful journey.

How difficult is Everest Base Camp trek?

Day 1
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu & transfer to hotel

Upon your arrival at the International Airport of Kathmandu, our team will be there to pick you up. You will then transferred to one of the deluxe hotel in Thamel for overnight stay.

In the evening, we will have a short meeting to discuss about the information of your insurance as well as the trip. Similarly, the main focus will be to give you the information regarding the trip and to let you meet with the guide.

Day 2
Day 2: Drive to Ramechhap Airport from Kathmandu -04hrs

Today your guide will come to pick you up & drive to Ramechhap for your next day flight to Lukla. It will take you 4 hours to reach the Ramechhap airport. From Ramachhap airport you can have easy accessible flight to Lukla.

All the domestic airlines company fly to Lukla early in the morning. You have to be there at least an hour before your flight. It is very rush and sometimes miss the flight due to road traffic from Kathmandu to Ramechhap if you drive the same day. That is why we bring you to Ramechhap this day before your flight to Lukla.

Today with your guide you will check all your documents & backpacks & stay in a hotel near to the airport for overnight stay.

Day 3
Day 3: Fly to Lukla 2,800m from Ramechhap -25mins & trek to Phakding 2,600m -03hrs

Early in the morning, your guide will come to pick you up in your hotel. You will then go to the airport for Lukla flight. From here your journey starts with a short scenic flight to Lukla. Upon landing on Lukla airport you will have a delicious breakfast & then start your first day of trek to Phakding.

With a slow walk via slope trail you will reach Phakding in just 3 hour where you will have your lunch. Overnight stay there.

Day 4
Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazar 3,440m from Phakding -06hrs

Today you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park region, which is also one of the World Heritage sites. Similarly, we will start the trek as soon as we have our breakfast in Phakding. Today you will cross 5 suspension bridges including the final 5th famous Hillary bridge.

You will have lunch at Jorsalle which is the final village before reaching to the Namche Bazar.

It will take a minimum of 6 hours to reach Namche Bazar. After passing Hillary bridge the trail is steep uphill till you reach Namche. And on the way you will have your first glance of Mount Everest from view point before reaching to Namche Bazar.

Day 5
Day 5: Acclimatization day, visiting Everest view point

Today is your acclimatization day. This day is very important because an acclimatization day means adjusting your body with the surroundings.

On this day, you can either visit the market place or you can hike to Everest view hotel where you can have a warm tea or coffee facing toward the Mount Everest. Likewise, exploring the Namche Bazar is also fun as this is regarded as the capital city of Khumbu region.

As a matter of fact, Namche is well developed and provides internet cafes, restaurants, government offices, ATM and a cheap market from Friday evening to Saturday. Therefore, if you want to buy any souvenir then this place is the best.

Day 6
Day 6: Trek to Deboche 3,740m from Namche Bazar -06 hrs

After an acclimatization day in Namche Bazar, it will be a little easy to trek to Deboche. However, walk slowly and drink lots of water to be free from Altitude sickness. Deboche is just 25mins walk from Tengboche.

You will have lunch at Phunki Thanga & from there is a steep uphill. As soon as you finish the hard walk uphill, you will reach to Tengboche & take your time to explore the oldest Tengboche monastery. From there you will head to Deboche for overnight stay.

Day 7
Day 7: Trek to Dingboche 4,400m from Deboche -05 hrs

Today you will start your trek as soon as you eat breakfast. Today’s trek is steep upward to Pangboche which is also a Sherpa village. You will have your lunch at Somare which is near to Dingboche.

Similarly, from Deboche to Dingboche, it’s just 6 hours walk with extraordinary landscapes views. From here also, you will witness the Mount Everest hidden between the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge as well as Ama Dablam. Overnight stay.

Day 8
Day 8: Acclimatization day, hiking to Nangkartshang Peak 5,083m

Today will be another rest day/acclimatization day at 4,450m in Dingboche. You can either climb to Nangkartshang Peak or explore Dingboche. Nangkartshang Peak is terribly steep upward to climb which is also very hard but totally worth it.

Today’s acclimatization day will help you to tackle altitude sickness as well as it will help you to boost your energy. Success to climb Nangkartshang Peak is the same as reaching the Mount Everest Base Camp.

Day 9
Day 9: Trek to Lobuche 4,910m from Dingboche -05hrs

After a second acclimatization day in Dingboche, you will be almost ready for Everest Base Camp. Trekking to Lobuche will be easy as pie if you have climbed to Nangkartshang Peak.

Similarly, today will be a long walk from Dingboche to Lobuche which will take up to 6 hours. That is why we will walk early in the morning after a delicious breakfast. You’ll have a lunch break at Thukla/Dukla at 4,630m altitude.

Always remember that walking slowly is the key to success while trekking as well as drink enough water. Once you come across the highest of the mountain, you’ll see several memorials of various mountaineers. Similarly, the path is a little complicated to Lobuche from this place.

Day 10
Day 10: Trek to Base Camp 5,360m & back to Gorakshep 5,180m -07hrs

Finally, its your big day to achieve your goal. Today, after breakfast in Lobuche, we will head to Gorakshep which is not so hard. And from Lobuche, it will only take 3 hours minimum to reach Gorakshep. And from there, it will only take 2 hours to reach Everest Base Camp.

Similarly, it will take up to 7 hours to do Everest Base Camp round trip. Most of the peoples get confused in Everest Base Camp whether Mount Everest can be seen or not. However, you will not see Mount Everest from Everest Base Camp. But, from Kalapathar, you can see the Mount Everest Base Camp for which you will hike there the next day.

Day 11
Day 11: Hike to Kalapathhar 5,545m & trek back to Pheriche 4,200m -08 hrs

After a tremendous experience of Mt. Everest base camp, it’s time to trek back to Lukla. But before heading down we will hike to Kalapatthar, the highest viewpoint in the world. It presents panoramic views of the entire Mount Everest massif. Get ready to shot these view.

From there you will head downhill all the way to Pheriche 4,200. If you can walk further then you can head down to Pangboche. Overnight stay in Pheriche or Pangboche.

Day 12
Day 12: Trek back to Namche Bazar

You will be amazed by how easy it is to head back to Namche Bazar. You will be full of energy again because you will have no problem on breathing as you ascend down to 3,440m. If you were having sleep disorder at higher altitude then get to the bed early as you will have sound sleep here.

Day 13
Day 13: Trek back to Lukla

Today is the last day in the Everest region after accomplishing the EBC trek. Head down back to Lukla with sweet memories & selfies. You will have your lunch at Phakding & overnight stay in Lukla.

Day 14
Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu

Early morning after a delicious breakfast you will fly back to Kathmandu, bidding the Everest peaks goodbye for the last time. You will land at Kathmandu airport after a short 30mins scenic flight. After your arrival, our team will come to pick you up. Similarly, today will be our treat for a successful trip or lets say a farewell party.

Day 15
Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu to home

Today you will be transferred to international airport approximately three hours before your scheduled flight by one of our representative.
