Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you’ll be received by one of our representative & transfer to one of the deluxe hotel in Thamel. The next day your journey starts with a 4-hour drive to Ramechhap from Kathmandu.
Why should we go to Ramechhap airport?
Normally, all Lukla flights would operate from Kathmandu airport. But due to very high air traffic in Kathmandu airport and unpredictable weather of Lukla, domestic airlines cannot get flight schedules properly from Kathmandu. That is why we should go to Ramechhap airport to catch a flight to Lukla. Nepal domestic airline company operates Lukla flight from Ramechhap too.
Ramechhap airport is the only domestic airport there and this is just an alternative airport of Kathmandu domestic airport. This airport will be busy only on tourist season (Mid- March to May and October to November).
The weather in Lukla is clear in the morning time. So, all the domestic airline company flies to Lukla early in the morning. You have to be there at least an hour before your flight. It is very rush and sometimes misses the flight due to road traffic from Kathmandu to Ramechhap if you drive the same day. That is why we bring you to Ramechhap one day before your flight to Lukla.
On your third day, you’ll fly to Lukla from Ramechhap with a scenic view on the way. It will take 25mins to reach Lukla by plane.
As soon as you land at the world’s highest, Lukla airport, you will be welcomed by the cool breeze of Himalayas. From here the journey kicks off by trekking to Phakding from Lukla which is just a 3-hour walk.
