This trek is similar to the Everest Base Camp trek but with an extra day to reach Ama Dablam base camp, it is very unique. Unfortunately, very few trekkers have gone to Ama Dablam base camp because it’s new to them. Therefore, don’t miss the chance to trek to the most popular base camps in Nepal in one package.

Some of the best tips to enjoy your stay:

At the time of acclimatization day on Namche Bazar, it is recommended to have a hike or explore the Bazar. If you get lucky to stay in Namche Bazar on Saturday then you can go check out the market. Because every Saturday, there opens a big marketplace selling different kinds of stuff at a cheap price. You can taste many unique foods there which are very tasty. Most peoples think that it is very expensive here but to be true it’s no different than Kathmandu’s price.

Similarly, you will have wifi facility during your trip but rather than using your phone, you can play cards with your teams also. Most of the tourists love playing cards because they find it very fun during the trek. Or you can play different games with the team also.

Also, make lots of videos to keep it a memory, and don’t forget to capture every moment during your trip. You will encounter lots of new things on this trip that you can’t find at other places. That is why you have to keep it the precious memory of your life.

The flight is only about 30 minutes with a scenic view of snow peak mountains and lush forests. And if the situation occurs where we have to take the Ramechhap flight then it will take  4 hours driving distance from Kathmandu and an extra 30 min for flight. Normally you can fly to Lukla from Kathmandu.

After landing in Lukla at a 2,800m altitude, you will have your breakfast there. Soon, you need to walk behind the guide for approximately 4 hours to reach Phakding 2,660m. You will pass through some beautiful Sherpa villages Chaurikharka, Thadokoshi, Ghat before Phakding.

Normally in AMa Dablam Package, trekker stops at Namche Bazar at least two nights for acclimatization. During the stay,
they explore Syangboche 3,830m for Mt. Everest’s view. But we recommend going to Khumjung village 3,790 if you are a challenging seeker. It’s just approximately 4 hours walking distance behind Syngboche from Namche Bazar and a really beautiful Sherpa village.

Namche Bazar is becoming more touristic and busy too. You will first climb Syngboche for 3,830m then walk down to Khumjung which is no risk for altitude sickness too. Especially it is not recommended to go more than 600m for an overnight stay to adopt elevation.

Exploring real Sherpa village will be amazing too. Likewise, this village also has beautiful lodges and guest houses.

4 hours
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After a pleasant stay at Khumjung village, your morning walk starts a bit downhill to Lausasa. Laussa is on the main trail of the Everest base camp trek. It is about 3 hours far from Namche Bazar. But for us, from Khumjung village, it takes less than an hour.

It is all downhill to Phungi Thanga 3,250m. From Phungi Thanga, you should climb up to Tengboche 3,860m which is considered a hard part for this day.
You can have a lunch stop at Tengboche and similarly, you can visit the famous Tengboche (Tyangboche) monastery. From here you goanna have bit downhill to Deboche 3,810m and almost flat for an hour before climbing to Pangboche 4,000m. You need to climb uphill about 30 minutes to Pangboche from the Riverside.

Pangboche 4,000m is another beautiful Sherpa village. You will stay here for two nights.

Nowadays, most people attempt Nagarjun hill 5,100m. They test their ability for Everest base camp on this mountain. It does not take that long day too. You need to hike 3 to 4 hours to go up and two hours roughly to go down to Dingboche. The afternoon will be free for rest.

There is a short unstable trail nearby Thukla 4,600m due to fast pace river. And you have to climb up to Lobuche pass 4,870m. This pass is popular for its cemetery of mountaineers. From here, it will take an hour to reach Lobuche 4,940m with just a gradual flat.

Everest base camp 5,364m is considered as the highest base camp. You need only three hours roughly to reach to Gorakshep 5,180m from Lobuche. You can leave all your bag pack at Gorakshep except water bottle and camera.

Its two hours from Gorakshep to reach to Everest base camp. You can see a big Khumbu icefall nearby base camp. However, you will see many tenting here in the spring season and almost no tent in the autumn season. All veteran climbers set their camps before attempting to the summit.

Nowadays there is a mobile reception as well so if you wish, you can talk back to the home with your family. After a tiring day, it will be better just making photographs and enjoying the Everest base camp.

It takes about two and a half hours to reach the top of Kalapathar. This place offers a great view of Mount Everest and other stunning mountains. Similarly, Kalapathar 5,545m always has the strong chill wind in the morning time.

After catching a moment of Kalapathar, go back to Gorakshep for high altitude breakfast. Then trek down to Pheriche 4,200m via Lobuche and Thukla for an overnight stop on the way back to Lukla.
